Role Models and Leaders Australia (RMLA), a not-for-profit charitable organisation founded in 2004 by Olympian and champion basketball Ricky Grace (MEdL, BPolSc). RMLA is the leading provider of school-based programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Australia, developing and empowering youth through leadership training, mentoring, sport and extra-curricular programs. Our goal is to assist at-risk youth in overcoming the common barriers that prevent them from completing their education.
The Girls Academy program provides comprehensive in-school support to Aboriginal girls throughout WA, NSW, NT and QLD. The Girls Academy program works within the school system to drive community-led solutions aimed at overcoming the barriers preventing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls from completing their education. The girls Academy equips students with the tools they need to engage in their education, achieve their goals, and change their communities.
The Up4It Leadership Development Program is a creative and innovative strategy to address the poor attendance rates of Indigenous students in Australia’s regional and remote communities. The program provides role models to deliver workshops, sports coaching and extra-curricular activities to reinforce positive messages about education, healthy lifestyles, leadership, teamwork and sport/physical activity.
RMLA would like to acknowledge the generous support of the following organisations and the role they have played in making a difference to the lives of Indigenous Youth. List of Supporters and logos.
